As he prepared to walk his daughter, Amy Totty, 30, down the aisle, Neil mistook a cue from staff, confidently striding alone towards the altar before realizing his blunder.

According to Daily Mail, a staff member quickly rushed to get his attention, revealing the amusing oversight to Neil, who was oblivious to the empty spot beside him.

Neil, who had almost reached the altar, turned around in surprise to see Amy, still waiting to be escorted. Laughing at the situation, Amy and Neil shared a lighthearted second attempt to walk down the aisle together.

"It was just pure miscommunication between my dad and the staff," said Amy.

"He thought they told him to walk when they said to wait for me!"
