The Mombasa Law Society recently held a special tribute and thanksgiving proceeding to commemorate the reopening of Mombasa law courts to the public.

The courts had been closed down after 11 judiciary staff in the region contracted Covid-19. The prayer session also recognised lawyers, judiciary staff and court users who played critical role in ensuring justice is being delivered during this pandemic.

The event was held at Court of Appeal Building Mombasa (Mombasa Old Law Courts). Chief Justice David Maraga briefly addressed the lawyers and the judicial staff virtually from Nairobi.
