Nairobi is set to host Africa’s biggest public relations event, the Africa Global PR Week 2025, from August 26-29, 2025.

The event will bring together professionals, governments, businesses, brands, organisations, and communities globally, offering an opportunity to explore, innovate, and shape the future of Africa.

“As the continent undergoes rapid urbanisation, digital transformation and economic growth, this summit is uniquely positioned to amplify Africa’s voice on the global stage,” the statement from organisers said.

“Africa Global PR Week 2025 is a platform for change, where Africa’s unique stories will be told to the world, and global professionals will come together to create the next chapter in PR.”

The summit's theme, "Redefining PR, Redefining Africa", will steer conversations around the key trends and opportunities shaping public relations in Africa today.

Discussions will cover the rise of digital media, the increasing influence of local PR agencies, AI-driven strategies, the impact of corporate social responsibility, and the power of storytelling in elevating Africa’s image on the global stage.

Notable speakers at Africa Global PR Week 2025 include Paul Holmes, founder and Chair of Provoke Media and SABRE Awards (USA); Lorenzo Brufani, founder and CEO of Competence (Italy); Stacey Mtika, founder of Tide Media Consultancy (Zambia); and Kenya’s Mary Njoki, founder/CEO of Glass House PR, alongside Dorothy Ooko.

The summit will feature a PR Challenge in collaboration with local universities on August 26, inviting students and young professionals to participate in a dynamic competition.

“This challenge tests participants' creativity, problem-solving abilities and skills in developing impactful PR strategies in real-time offering emerging talent a unique opportunity to engage with industry experts and gain hands-on experience while competing alongside their peers,” a statement from organisers said.

The summit is expected to showcase Africa’s diverse cultures and the untapped potential while addressing challenges such as misinformation, reputation management and global competitiveness.

The summit will emphasise the pivotal role of PR in shaping Africa’s identity within a globalised world, positioning PR professionals as essential connectors between governments, businesses and communities while championing sustainable development and ethical communication across the continent.

In partnership with renowned organisations such as the International Communications Consultancy Organisation (ICCO), The Comms Avenue, Comms of Africa, and the Public Relations and Communications Association (PRCA), the summit aims to shape the future of PR in Africa while fostering global collaboration.

Each partner brings invaluable insight, with ICCO representing global PR consultancies, The Comms Avenue building a pan-African communications network, Comms of Africa amplifying African PR narratives and PRCA being the leading authority in PR and communications worldwide.
