Collins Korir, the founder of the innovative platform SHULE AI

In the rapidly evolving world of education technology, Shule AI is making waves in Kenya by providing a transformative platform that combines the power of artificial intelligence with the need for accessible, high-quality education.

According to the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), AI has the potential to address some of the biggest challenges in education today, innovate teaching and learning practices, and accelerate progress towards SDG 4.

The Star spoke to Collins Korir, the founder of this innovative platform that offers an array of features designed to support teachers, empower students, and make learning more affordable, especially for those from economically disadvantaged backgrounds.

He has over 10 years of experience in the tech industry and has consistently been at the forefront of technological innovation.

His deep expertise in AI, coupled with a passion for social impact, led him to create Shule AI, a platform that blends technology with education to improve access and quality for all.

Before founding Shule AI, Collins worked in various capacities across the tech industry and is currently the founder and CEO of three other successful and promising startups.

Ticket Mojo, an entertainment ticketing website, Soko Dot Net, an e-commerce platform for SMEs and Nyumber, a real-estate & property listing platform.

Under Collins’ leadership, Shule AI has grown into a powerful tool that is helping teachers earn better livelihoods while offering students an opportunity to receive world-class education regardless of their financial standing.

His work is a testament to his commitment to bridging the educational divide in Kenya and empowering the next generation of learners.

AI-powered live streaming of classes

At the core of Shule AI is its advanced AI-powered live streaming feature. This technology enables teachers to deliver high-quality live lessons to students across Kenya, even in remote areas where access to physical classrooms is limited.

The AI not only ensures a seamless streaming experience but also tailors learning materials and resources based on individual student’s progress, making education more personalised.

Empowering teachers

Shule AI also plays a crucial role in enhancing the livelihoods of teachers. By enabling them to teach more students virtually, the platform offers opportunities for teachers to earn more, thereby improving their income potential. Some teachers on the platform have quit their daytime jobs to focus on teaching purely on the platform and are now earning more than their peers while working in the comfort of their homes. Teachers can also leverage the AI tools for better classroom management, lesson planning, and real-time feedback, making their work more efficient and rewarding.

Affordable education for all

One of Shule AI’s most impactful features is its ability to democratize education. With the integration of AI and live streaming, students from all walks of life—particularly those from low-income households—can access high-quality educational content at a fraction of the traditional cost.

Shule AI’s affordable pricing model ensures that even economically disadvantaged children can get access to the same level of education as their more privileged counterparts.

A bright future for Kenyan education

Shule AI is not only a platform for today’s students but is also helping to shape the future of education in Kenya. By reducing the barriers to education through technology, the platform is fostering a more equitable society, where every child, regardless of their economic background, has the opportunity to succeed. The AI-powered system helps bridge gaps in access, while the platform’s affordability makes it a sustainable option for families across the nation.

Whats next for Shule AI

Collins and his team plan to expand Shule AI to the whole African market in the next two years.

They plan to make their own AI models and play a key part in the African AI scene.

“We want to be Africa’s first edtech unicorn,’’ he says with a proud smile.
