Filmmaker Abel Mutua has advised men who 'produce' babies every year to go for a vasectomy.

Speaking to Word Is during the Safaricom Tuinuane launch, the father of one said he is okay the way he is but if anyone wants to do a vasectomy, they should go ahead.

"If you think you will give birth to so many children, just go for it," Abel said.

"Our former President Mwai Kibaki once said, 'You can't be producing every year.'"

Abel and his friend Philip Karanja are promoting their new film, 'Click Bang'.

Abel said their passion in pushing content is inspired by their humble beginnings.

"Poverty has been our motivation in everything we do, we do not want to go back to the ghetto," he said.

"Phil and I both came from the ghetto. We know what it feels like to lack, and we would never want to go back there. We will push until this thing makes sense to Kenyans."

He said the industry has great potential but people have not recognised it.

"Film is the next big employer in the country."

Ahead of the General Election, Abel encouraged youths to make wise decisions on the leaders they elect.

"I will vote for those who I think will make a difference in our lives," he said.

"My message to the youths is that it's stupid to lift a Sh1,500 panga, to be paid 200 bob to hurt your neighbour. It does not make sense. Make wise decisions and leave the sideshows. Let us not allow elections to stop our economy."
