Bandari head coach Andre Casa Mbungo has scooped  February's Football Kenya Federation Premier League Coach of the Month award.

Mbungo beat Bidco United's Anthony Akhulia to the accolade after inspiring the dockers to four wins in as many matches in the month.

Bandari marked the start of the month with a slim 1-0 win over Kariobangi Sharks at the Utalii grounds before edging AFC Leopards 2-1 in the subsequent match  at the Mbaraki grounds.

They went on to hand a hapless Vihiga United a thorough 5-0 hiding in their third match.

Mbungo took over at Bandari in January at a time they were in sixth place with eight points from six games. Akhulia, on the other hand, guided top tier newbies Bidco to four wins but his main undoing in the poll was their inferior goal returns compared to Bandari who scored ten and conceded only once.

Bidco pipped Posta Rangers 1-0 in their first match of the month before seeing off Zoo 2-0 in their second away tie at the Green Stadium, Kericho.

The Thika-based club cruised past Mathare United with a hard-fought 2-1 win at Moi Stadium, Kasarani in their match before pulling a major upset on current leaders Tusker.

The dockers'tactician becomes the third to be decorated this season after KCB's Zedekiah Otieno and Wazito's Francis Kimanzi who were named as the December and January coaches of the month respectively.

The Rwandese national walks home with a customized trophy and a Ksh 50 000 from the league organisers.
