After recording their fourth consecutive win in the women’s Division One league with a convincing 61-31 victory over Kisii University, Eldonets are now targeting to be the first team from Eldoret to play in Kenya Basketball Federation (KBF) women's Premier League.
Eldonets coach James Ndung’u said: “Since the start of the second leg, we have won four back-to-back games and I’m happy with the progress that the girls have made. This is a relatively new team with several young and inexperienced players.”
Speaking at Kisii University after the emphatic win, Ndung’u added: “After this easy win, I hope the girls will not be complacent because we are not yet done. Our target is the play-off for now and if we get there, we shall aim at the premier league.”
During the game, Eldonets started strongly winning the first quarter 15-4. They then stretched their lead with second quarter win of 16-7. In the third quarter, Kisii came out strongly but lost 8-15 before drawing 15-15 in the last quarter. Kisii will hope to bounce back when they face Coastal Queens next weekend.
