The Kenya Amateur Golf Championship (KAGC) resumes this weekend at the Kiambu Golf Club with 74 players determined to continue the push for points.

Some of the notable players in the weekend's field of elite amateur golfers include home player Michael Karanga and strokeplay champion John Lejirma from Kenya Railways Golf Club.

Also in the Kiambu mix are Kenya Junior Strokeplay champion Elvis Muigua and the Manchester Salver champion Michael Alunga from Uganda Golf Club.

The inaugural Kiambu Open is incidentally the third event that was added to the KAGC Calendar in the year 2022. 

The other two are the Golf Park Open which was held on May 14-15 and the Malindi Open on the "Vasco Da Gama Cup" held on August 27-28 August this year.

The players are drawn from Kiambu, VetLab, Golf Park, Eldoret, Windsor, Ruiru, Mombasa, Sigona, Royal Nairobi, Kenya Railway, Uganda, Kericho, Machakos, Kakamega, Muthaiga, Thika Greens, Limuru and the Great Rift Valley. 

Meanwhile, Kisumu’s Nyanza Golf Club will host the second last leg of the DTB 'Bank with us’ golf tournament this weekend.

The bank hosted its inaugural golf tournament at the 72-par Kakamega Sports Club while the subsequent series were played at the Nyali and Kericho respectively.

Over 120 golfers are scheduled to participate in the Kisumu edition where they will be battling for top prizes on the greens.

The last leg of the golf tournament will take place in Eldoret in December.
