The Kenya Sevens Rugby team is settling well in Paris ahead of the Olympic games.

The games' official ceremony will be on Friday but Rugby will start on Wednesday.

The National side travelled to Paris on Friday after days of training in Miramas and France.

This is the third time Kenya will be taking part in the games.

However, their performances at Rio and Tokyo have been below par, failing to make it to the quarter-finals on both occasions.

The team is now determined to change that with almost 80% of players in the squad making their first appearance at the games.

Only Herman Humwa and Vincent Onyala were part of the team that finished in 9th place at the Tokyo games.

Kenya managed to win only 2 games in Tokyo against Japan and Ireland, an improvement from the one match they won in Rio 2016 to finish 11th overall.

Heading into Wednesday's games, Kenya faces an uphill task when they take on Argentina at 5 pm, the Pumas are the current IRB Sevens circuit champions.

Team manager Steve has been with the team in France for their preparation and he says they are fully prepared for the task ahead of them.

"Our stay in France has been wonderful, we have managed to tick all our boxes, the team is elated, they are energetic and they are looking forward to the games. I believe we are ready, the weather has been good to us," he said.

In order to qualify for the quarter-finals, Kenya would need to win at least two matches in the group stage that also includes Australia and Samoa and Sewe is confident the boys are equal to the task.

However, he was quick to admit their first match will not be a walk in the park but he says it will be also an opportunity to gauge themselves.

The team's management was also grateful to the National Olympics committee for the support they have given them since they started training in Kenya
