Malkia Strikers' lethal attacker Pamela Adhiambo has joined Finland’s volleyball giants, LP Viesti, and was unveiled yesterday.

This transition marks a pivotal moment for Adhiambo, who has demonstrated exceptional skill and tenacity on the court, culminating in her standout performance at the Paris Olympics.

The change of fortune comes only days after she made her debut at the Olympic Games in Paris.

She flew straight to Finland to seal the deal as the rest of the team landed back home on Tuesday.

The nine-time Finland league champions had already prepared an eight-month contract for Adhiambo before the Olympics and the only point pending was putting ink to paper.

The 23-year-old starred, alongside Veronica Adhiambo, in the Malkia match against Poland as she displayed her attacking prowess and emerged top scorer with 14 points.

In total, Adhiambo earned Malkia 23 points, seven against  Brazil, in the opener, and two from four attempts in the last game against Japan.

Before her Olympic success, Adhiambo had a remarkable career with Kenya Pipeline. As an alumnus of Nyakach Girls’ High School, she quickly rose through the ranks, making a significant impact on the team.

In three seasons at Kenya Pipeline, Adhiambo helped secure the women’s league title in 2022 and earned the prestigious Most Valuable Player (MVP) award.

She has been in incredible form since forcing her way into national coach Japheth Munala's plans after being overlooked for by the previous Malkia Strikers head coach Luizomar de Moura on international assignments.

Her prowess since joining Pipeline saw her attract interest from Rwandese top clubs but chose to stick with Kenya Pipeline.

Adhiambo becomes the latest Malkia star to join the professional ranks abroad after Veronica Adhiambo, who plays for Tarsus Belediyespor of Turkey and Sharon Chepchumba who played for Greek giants PAOK Thessaloniki before returning to KCB.

Adhiambo was recently quoted as saying she had already signed a three-year contract with LZ Sports Pro, an international volleyball players placement agency.
