Former ICT CS Eliud Owalo, through his Owalo Foundation, donated 30 sets of tracksuits to Bungoma-based side, Nzoia Sugar FC on Monday
The event was graced by former Kenya football legends including Leonard Khayota, Austin 'Makamu' Oduor, Aggrey Lukoye, Peter Dawo, Dan Musuku, George Onyango 'Fundi', Washington Muhanji, Thomas Omboko, James Goro Oronge, Dennis Munyendo, Isaiah “Janabi” Omondi, Benard Musuku, Maurice Khayota, Micke Otieno, Antony Waliuba, Benard Onyango, Evans Kadenge, and Gerald Omollo “Chonjo”.
Nzoia Sugar FC were represented by Chairman Jaspets Mokua, head coach Charles Odera and team manager John Muraya, with skipper Elisha Wekesa leading the players in attendance.
Also in attendance were key figures from Nzoia Sugar Company, including Nzoia Sugar Ltd factory manager Kenyatta Ogeke, QA Manager Benson Khwatenge and PRO Florence Mutinda.
Just last Friday, the Owalo Foundation made a similar donation to Kakamega Homeboyz FC.
Nzoia, recently relegated from the top flight after an eight-year stint, is gearing up for a fresh start in the second-tier league National Super League.
The team finished last in the Premier League with 22 points, winning only five of their 34 league matches.
Their first test in the second tier will be against Fortune Sacco on September 7 after which they will take on Nairobi United on September 14.
