The Football Kenya Federation (FKF) has given Extreme Sports CEO Hussein Mohammed the green light to attend the Annual General Meeting as Murang’a Seal representative.

In a letter addressed to the Murang’a Seal chairman on August 19, FKF CEO Barry Otieno confirmed Hussein is now eligible to represent Murang’a Seal as the club’s Vice President.

“We acknowledge receipt of communication from your club dated August 13, 2024, nominating Hussein Mohammed as Murang’a Seal FC’s representative for the upcoming FKF Special General Meeting scheduled for August 24,” read the FKF statement.

The letter further stated, “We have taken note that Hussein was duly registered as a member of Murang’a Seal FC with FKF on July 25, 2024, via the Club Licensing Online Platform (CLOP).  As per Article 23(2) of the FKF Constitution 2017, we are pleased to confirm  Hussein is now eligible to represent Murang’a Seal at the forthcoming SGM.”

Article 23 (2) of the FKF constitution states; “Delegates must belong to the member club they represent and be appointed or elected by the appropriate body or club.”

Hussein had previously been barred from attending the March AGM, which was later halted by a Mombasa Court.

Article 18 of the FKF constitution states that; "Each member shall manage its affairs independently and with no influence from third parties."

The AGM's suspension came after sports journalist Milton Nyakundi filed a lawsuit challenging the legitimacy of FKF’s top officials.

Last month, the Nairobi High Court upheld the earlier decision to halt the AGM, putting it on hold till October. The AGM was scheduled to address critical issues including the federation’s election.
