Kenyan Premier League side Shabana continue to reinforce their squad with the arrival of three more players.

On Wednesday, they signed striker Duke Nyamweya from fourth-tier side Gucha Stars.

Nehemiah Onchiri returns from his loan stint at National Super League side Samwest Blackboots and centre-back Frank Mandela from Kibera Black Stars.

They are expected to feature in Saturday’s FKF Cup Round of 64 fixture against Solian FC at Kericho Green Stadium.

Onchiri was instrumental in the team’s return to the Premier League while Mandela played for the team in the 2002/03 season.

The signing of the trio brings the total number of players enlisted in the current transfer window to seven. Others are Keith Imbali and Moses Shikanda from Kariobangi Sharks, Douglas Mokaya from Bidco United and Derrick Oketch, formerly of Ebwali Secondary.

Christopher Raila has left for Mara Sugar while transfer gossip indicates five more could exit the Glamour Boys. On Thursday, Mara Sugar signed goalkeeper Evans Omondi from Sofapaka.

Team manager Gilbert Ledama said: “He is a good goalkeeper and we want to increase competition in our goalkeeping department.” They have released Kevin Luvanda.

Tusker midfielder Joseph Mwangi is set to reunite with coach Salim Babu at Nairobi City Stars. Mwangi played under Babu at Nzoia Sugar and joined Tusker at the start of the 2023/24 season.

Tusker announced Mwangi’s departure on Thursday — on mutual agreement.

“His contributions have been invaluable and we wish him all the best in his future endeavours,” said a Tusker statement. Mwangi observed: “I want to take this opportunity to express my deepest gratitude to Tusker FC, the coaches, my teammates and the fans for their incredible support throughout my time at the club. It has been an amazing journey and I’ve learned and grown so much.”
