Gremio vs America MG, Saturday, 23:00

Gremio is in the penultimate place with only 6 points from 10 games, while America MG won 9 points in 12 matches.

Gremio managed to achieve a couple of good results in the last two weeks. A draw against Internacional and a victory over Fluminense gave an energy supplement to this team for the upcoming period.

0America MG have lost their previous 3 games, and the team is in a terrible drop in form. Gremio have the advantage here, and the odds are on their side.

However, if we take into account the fact that home team has scored only 5 goals this season and that 1.7 goals have been scored in their matches on average. An under 2.5 goals is okay

America Mineiro’s only aim for the campaign is to remain in the league and avoid an immediate return to Serie B, something Enderson Moreira’s men have made a good start towards achieving, collecting 13 points from 10 outings, leaving themselves in a comfortable 11th place.

Nonetheless, just 1 of those points have come on the road, with the teams attacking outlook tending to leave them more exposed on their travels. America have played with an open style in all matches so far this season and whilst that does mean they’ve notched in all but 2 games, they’ve also conceded an average of 1.7 goals a game, a figure that rises to 2.25 when only considering their road outings.

Flamengo RJ vs Sao Paolo, Sunday 22:00

Sunday evening features the Brazilian Serie A clash between hosts, Flamengo, and the visitors, Sao Paulo, as the two teams meet at the Maracana with Flamengo going in search of a fourth win on the trot in all competitions.

The three wins prior to this match up will have certainly helped lift Flamengo’s spirits and confidence and will have been a welcome boost after the hosts suffered previous back-to-back defeats against Fluminense in the ‘Flu-Fla’ derby and Atletico Mineiro in Serie A.

Sao Paulo earned a solid point in a 1-1 draw at home with Argentinian outfit, Racing Club, in their recent Copa Libertadores clash but then succumbed to a 1-0 loss at home in their following match in Serie A against Fortaleza.

Back-to-back wins against Internacional and Bahia seemed to promise a brighter sequence of results for Sao Paulo but they duly slumped to defeat at home to the aforementioned Fortaleza in their next fixture, while five defeats within their opening 12 matches of this new Serie A season doesn’t bode well.

Palmeiras vs Fluminense, Sunday, 01:00

Palmeiras fans will want a repeat of their previous result, being a 1-0 Copa Libertadores triumph over Universidad Católica.
