Nairobi City Stars' midfielder Vincent Owino believes they can build on their 2-1 win against AFC Leopards as they prepare to face third-placed Nzoia Sugar this Saturday at Kasarani Annex.

Despite beating AFC Leopards on Monday, Nairobi City Stars remain rooted in the 15th place in the FKF Kenya Premier League table with 33 points from 31 games.

Leopards remain seventh on the log with 48 points.  During the game against Leopards, on-form striker Kevin Etemesi scored a brace.

“As a team, we are working on how we will utilize our chances to score more goals. Lately, we’ve been creating many chances but we fail to utilize them,” said Etemesi.

He added: "I am confident in our next game, we will convert better and win the game."

In their previous matches against Tusker, Ulinzi, and Bandari, they played well as a team but failed to convert their chances—settling for draws.

"We defended well and attacked well and went ahead to create chances which we failed to convert, forcing us to take home a point,” he added.

Owino joined Simba wa Nairobi in the mid-transfer window in March 2023 from Premier League side FC Talanta.

He has so far featured in eleven games,  clocking 975 minutes on his way to completing eight games. He has scored three goals, and provided two direct assists and four-second assists.
