National Super League leaders Naivas have unveiled five new signings to boost their chances of qualifying for the Kenya Premier League.
Naivas signed midfielders Summy Ggolola (Zoo FC), Bryson Kigalu (Mulembe), Nickon Ouma (Sofapaka) and strikers David Orem (Bidco) and Ronald Owino (Nairobi Water).
The new players are expected to be paraded in Saturday’s game against promotion-chasing Mara Sugar at Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos.
Naivas lead the NSL log with 33 points while Mara are third— three points adrift. Mara Sugar last week appointed Benedict Wanjala as their head coach and he led them to a 2-1 win over Luanda Villa.
Second-placed Mathare United host bottom-of-the-log Silibwet at Ruaraka grounds in Nairobi while Mulembe United FC and Migori Youth will face off at Mumias Sports Complex
On form Darajani Gogo host Kibera Black Stars in a highly anticipated Kibra clash at Police Sacco Stadium as Mombasa Stars welcome Dimba Patriots at Mbaraki Sports Club, Mombasa.
At the same time, Nairobi United head coach Paul Okatwa has confirmed his departure from the team.
“I want to take this opportunity to thank God for his grace throughout the season. To the players, I lack words for your effort and I wish you the best. To the management, thank you for the opportunity and confidence in me,” said Okatwa.
