KCB head coach Bernard Mwalala has pledged to put up a gallant battle against Kenya Police in the eagerly-awaited Football Kenya Federation Cup finals.

The coveted Caf Confederation Cup ticket and a whopping Sh2 million will be up for grabs as the two Kenyan Premier League stalwarts flex muscles in a ferocious battle for the bounties at the Ulinzi Sports Complex on Saturday.

He said they will be going for nothing short of a win. The bankers edged Kariobangi Sharks 4-3 on post-match penalties to seal a spot in the finals following a one-all draw in normal time.

“We haven’t come this close to clinching a continental ticket. We can’t just let this glorious chance go up in flames,” Mwalala stated.

“We regard our opponents highly but they must be ready for a vicious battle. It won’t be a walk in the park,” he added.

Mwalala said he has immense confidence in his talent-laden squad, noting that they possess the mojo to thrive in the match.

“They’ve stamped authority throughout our campaign and overcame strong opposition along the way. We have what it takes to run away with the title,” he added.

Kenya Police head coach Salim Babu said his charges have assembled sufficient ammunition to ravage the bankers on their way to a maiden continental stage appearance.

“We encountered a lukewarm string of results in our campaign due to tactical reasons. We tried different formations and rotated our players,” Babu remarked.

“Our goal was to evaluate the players before the championship. I strongly believe we are now prepared for the final against KCB on Saturday,” he added.
