Kisii School's rugby  Sevens team is on course to retain their title after storming the finals as the Kisii County Term Two Games entered Day Two at Nduru Boys.

Kisii School, who are the Kisii County and Nyanza Region 15's champions qualified for the final after a convincing 31-0 win over Gesero Mixed. Kisii School will now face Cardinal Otunga, Mosocho, who beat Itierio 33-5 in the other semi-final.

In the girls’ category, Nyagichenche and St Anne’s Nyangoge will lock horns in the final despite booking places at the Nyanza regional championships.

Nyangoge beat arch-rivals Rianyanchabera 10-5 in a tough semi-final while Nyagichenche narrowly beat Hema Chitago 5-0.

In girls’ volleyball, defending champions Nyakembene will battle it out in the semis against Kereri Girls on Friday while Ayora will battle Kiabigoria. Nyakembene beat Eramba in straight sets while Kereri Girls defeated Kenyenya 3-0.

Ayora edged Nyangusu 3-1 in the other quarter-final while Kiabigoria beat Hema Chitago by straight sets.

In the boys’ category, favourites Riokindo beat Metembe 3-0 while Mariwa ran over Gianchere with a similar set margin.

In other quarter-final games, Nyabisia saw off Eramba 3-0 as Itierio Boys upset Cardinal Otunga with a similar margin. In the semis, Riokindo will face Mariwa as Nyabisia battle Itierio Boys.

In netball, Kereri Girls romped to the semi-finals after a 39-35 win over defending champions St Peter’s Keberesi while St Vincent Omwari beat Ibacho 41-25 in the other quarter-final. Ayora shook off Amaiko 39-23 with Itumbe Mixed defeating Mariwa 29-25.

Kereri will be up against Omwari in the semis as Ayora face off with Itumbe.

In the girls’ 3x3 basketball, Kereri Girls and St Angela’s Sengera booked their slots at the Nyanza regional championships after qualifying for today’s final.

It will be a repeat of last year’s final. In the semis, Kereri Girls saw off Igorera 10-2 as St Angela’s Sengera struggled to beat Sameta Mixed 13-9 in a tough encounter.

Defending champions Nyanchwa Boys will play hosts Nduru Boys in the semi-finals as Kisii School battles rival Cardinal Otunga.
