Police in Kabete constituency on Monday night seized illicit alcohol worth Sh300,000.

They said the Simba Waragi alcoholic drink produced by Premier Distilleries Ltd in Uganda, was brought into the country illegally.

“We have arrested a driver and one occupant in the Probox which was transporting the illicit brew. They didn't have Kenya Revenue Authority documents, health certificates and other documents allowed by law to transport alcoholic drinks,” Kiambu county police commander Andiel Nyange said yesterday.

Speaking at King'eero police station, he said police were informed about a vehicle transporting alcohol illegally to an unidentified outlet in Wangige.

Kabete OCPD Joseph Ongaya and his team started inspecting vehicles and at 2am stopped the vehicle as it was entering Wangige.
