A 65-year-old man is seeking justice after his son and wife died over what he links to his piece of land he said was invaded by people unknown to him in Kisumu City.

Walter Ouma Owino from Ko Obura village in Nyando Subcounty, Kisumu, narrated his ordeal of how he has suffered depression since 2018 when some people raided his home and brutally killed his son.

When his wife arrived from Ahero market and laid eyes on the body of her son, she collapsed and died.

He said the encroachers struck on the land he bought several years ago at Nyalenda estate and put up residential structures which they allegedly sold to different people.

Owino explained during an interview that he acquired his parcel of land number KISUMU/PANDPIERI/487 by a sale agreement dated 2nd February 1985 at the cost of Sh13,500 cash.

Owino said sometime in June 2018 while he was enjoying his peaceful occupation of the land, another man purchased a neighbouring land.

He said it was after the man purchased the land that conflicts ensued leading to his current situation.

Owino has vowed to never abandon the protracted legal fight saying he wants to regain possession of the land he says he bought from his sweat.
