The Kenya Airports Authority (KAA) has shared photos of the new-look state of the art Jomo Kenyatta International Airport's terminals 1B and C.
The authority hinted that the works are almost done, commending the public for their patience.
"Thank you for being patient with us, we are almost there . A sneak peak of JKIA’s Terminals 1B and C currently being refurbished," they posted on their official twitter handle.
China Jiangxi International Economic and Technical Cooperation (CJIC), which is undertaking works started renovations in January 2021.
The airports facelift will cost Sh963 million.
The Cooperation has been racing to finish the project that was supposed to take 12-months to complete.
The JKIA upgrade project involves the refurbishment of the airport’s departure halls to improve check-in, screening procedures, retail operations, and traveller lounge experience.
The renovation of Terminal 1B and IC is aimed at enhancing the traveller experience in the two terminals to match what is offered at Terminal 1A.
Further, the renovations are also meant to improve customer experience and position the airport as the preferred aviation hub in East Africa.
