Deputy President William Ruto on Thursday held a closed door meeting with US National Security Council as part of the DP's broader tour of the United States.
Ruto's Director of communications Hussein Mohamed said the DP discussed issues of strategic partnership between US and Kenya.
This also included sustaining Kenya’s trajectory as a constitutional democracy.
"Ruto and former Vice President Musalia Mudavadi led a delegation that was hosted at the White House in a closed door meeting where issues of strategic partnership between US and Kenya were discussed," he said in a statement on Twitter.
Hussein did not reveal the other US officials who met with Ruto and his delegation.
But Ruto in a statement on Thursday announced that he was scheduled to have a meeting with US National Security Council.
Other leaders present in the closed door meeting include; Nakuru Senator Susan Kihika, Kandara MP Alice Wahome and Ababu Namwamba.

On Thursday, Ruto held a meeting with US Assistant Secretary of State for Africa, Molly Phee.
Ruto was hosted by Secretary Phee at her Washington DC office.
Among issues discussed during the meeting was the Kenya-US strategic partnership, the coming elections and the country's other partners.
The statement followed a meeting between Ruto and the US Assistant Secretary of State for Africa, Molly Phee in Washington DC.
