A Nairobi businesswoman was on Tuesday charged with stealing Sh3.1 million from a company by false pretences.
Nancy Wambui Gachoki was accused of stealing the money from the owner of Almex sevens limited which had been received by her for or on account of the company.
She allegedly committed the offence on September 30, 2022, at motorship dealers Limited along Kiambu road.
Wambui is said to have stolen the money by being an agent of the company.
She denied the charges before Milimani chief magistrate Luka Kimaru.
She pleaded for lenient bond terms and copies of witness statements from the prosecution.
The prosecution has lined up six witnesses to testify in the case. The magistrate released the accused on a cash bail of Sh300,000 or a bond of Sh800,000.
The case will be mentioned on February 14.
