Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has confessed to having lured Pastor Dorcas Rigathi into being his wife while she was at Alliance Girls High School.

Speaking during the National Prayer Breakfast at Safari Park on Wednesday, Gachagua said he met his wife while he had gone to visit the school.

“Mimi niliingia kwa hio Alliance, nikachanganya mtoto wa wenyewe nikaweka box na sasa ni bibi yangu”

“I went to Alliance Girls and confused someone's daughter, and now she is my wife,” Gachagua said.

He said they have been together for 35 years since he lured her into being with him.

“Na sikuweka yeye box peke yake, for the last 35 years ako kwa hio box,” Gachagua said.

Gachagua also commended the choir for the performance saying they will perform during his wedding anniversary.

“I want to commend Osoro’s choir. I will talk to Pastor Dorcas we consider whether, during our wedding anniversary, you can come and perform,” Gachagua said.

President William Ruto on Wednesday presided over the National Prayer Breakfast in Nairobi as leaders came together to hold prayers for the country.

The annual prayer session organised by Parliament is President Ruto’s first since he assumed office in September last year.

National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang'ula said they are deliberate on uniting the country to be at total peace with itself.

Leaders present were First Lady Rachael Ruto, Second Lady Pastor Dorcas Rigathi, National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang'ula and Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichung'wah, among other leaders.
