The MP will be laid to rest at his rural home in Lukusi Village on Tuesday (March 4, 2025) in a ceremony led by the Catholic Church.

President Ruto is leading the government delegation at the funeral, which is also attended by National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula and Senate Speaker Amason Kingi.

Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi is among the top government officials present at the ongoing church service, led by Bishop Joseph Obanyi Sawe.

In his sermon, Bishop Obanyi described Injendi as a focused leader who was determined to achieve his goals

“We are not here to mourn but to celebrate his work because he was a man of great focus who knew what he wanted to achieve. He accomplished even more than he had envisioned,” Obanyi said.

On Monday (March 3, 2025), Wetang’ula led government officials in a funeral service dedicated to residents and politicians to honor Injendi.

“As we begin this final journey with him, we take comfort in the impact he made and the lives he touched,” Wetang’ula eulogized.

“We pay tribute to a man whose dedication to his work as a Member of Parliament was truly unmatched. His unwavering commitment to serving his people leaves behind a legacy that will be remembered for generations.”

Leaders who spoke on Monday urged residents to maintain civility during Tuesday’s state funeral, emphasizing that Injendi was a leader who always preached peace.

Mudavadi also paid tribute to Injendi, describing him as a steadfast, visionary, respectful, and dutifully firm leader.

He noted that Injendi was a unifying figure who consistently supported initiatives aimed at improving the lives of his constituents and fostering national unity.
