Kenya Kwanza bipartisan team now wants IEBC Selection Panel to proceed with the hiring of new commissioners even if the Azimio side fails to turn up for a meeting next week.
Led by Joint Committee co-chair George Murugara, the Kenya Kwanza said they have given Azimio a final chance on Tuesday next week.
"The country cannot be held at ransom in regards to the reconstitution of IEBC," Murugara said.
"We will invite Azimio for a meeting on Tuesday, I will be communicating to my co-chair Otiende Amollo."
Murugara said should the opposition snub the next week meeting, the law will take its course.
Addressing a press conference at Parliament buildings, the Kenya Kwanza team led by the Tharaka MP accused the Azimio faction of holding the country at ransom.
Hiring of commissioners was one of the agenda items of the joint Committee formed to end the anti-government demonstrations that followed the August 9 presidential election.
