The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has revealed that the prime suspect behind bodies discovered in Kware, Mukuru Slums, Nairobi, murdered 42 women.

DCI boss Mohamed Amin  Monday said the suspected, after interrogation, revealed that he had killed the 42 women and disposed of their bodies in the dumpsite in two years.

"The suspect confessed to having lured killed and disposed of a total of 42  female bodies," the DCI boss said.

He said that the bodies were all murdered between 2022 and as recently as July 11, 2024.

The bodies were killed, wrapped and disposed of in a similar manner.

"The suspect alleged that the first victim was his wife, whom he strangled to death dismembered and dumped in the site," Amin said.

"The wife squandered the business twice and out of bitterness he choked her and dumped her. He is a person full of vengeance and hatred, He had a weakness for beautiful women."

He added that they are dealing with a psychopathic serial killer who lacks regard for human life.

Amin said that the police have also taken into custody another individual who was tracked down using a mobile phone belonging to one of the deceased who had been identified at the City mortuary on Sunday.

"We are at this moment treating the second person as a suspect or a victim."

He further said that the suspect's rented house and the dumping site will remain active crime scenes as investigations develop.

DCI further called upon members of the public who believe their loved ones could have fallen victim to the killer to report to DCI offices or the nearest police station.

Amin said that the operation is likely to lead to the arrest of more persons in relation to the incident.
