3 killed in Naivasha accident involving bus ferrying mourners

Three people including a woman and an infant died when a Ugandan-bound bus headed to Tororo was involved in an accident in the Kayole area,  Naivasha.

The bus was carrying mourners headed for a burial in the neighbouring country when the accident occurred.

Witnesses say the driver lost control of the vehicle in the Kayole area of Naivasha.

The driver tried to stop the vehicle but he ended up hitting other vehicles that were ahead of him.

The bus then swerved by the roadside and landed in a ditch in a sloppy section of the road.

A police report indicates that the bus occupancy stood at 63 at the time of the accident.

Several other passengers with various degrees of injuries including the driver of the bus are admitted to hospitals in the area.
