Dorcas Agik Oduor and Beatrice Askul have been sworn in as Attorney General and Cabinet Secretary for East African Community and Regional Development respectively.
The two were sworn in at State House, Nairobi in an event attended by President William Ruto, Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi, Cabinet Secretaries, parliamentary leaders, security officials other dignitaries.
Ruto expressed confidence in the appointees, citing their extensive experience in public service.
He assured them of his support in their efforts to enhance service delivery in government.
Gachagua congratulated the two on assuming office as Attorney General and Cabinet Secretary for East African Community and Regional Development respectively.
Oduor becomes the first woman to hold the AG position in the country’s history.
Oduor pledged to serve with honour and dignity and to provide valuable counsel to the president.
