Cristiano Ronaldo's YouTube channel gains millions of subscribers in hours

Portuguese football star Cristiano Ronaldo raked in a massive over 5.8 million subscribers within hours of opening a YouTube account on Wednesday.

The UR.Cristiano channel had 11 videos and seven YouTube shots within five hours of it going active.

He featured his wife Gio in the introductory video which opens with him saying “I have a big surprise for you. The new YouTube channel UR Cristiano”.

“Today I have Gio with me, cheeky boy!” he adds before the couple engages in a trivia session.

The former Manchester United, Real Madrid and Juventus player currently plies his trade with Al Nassr where he has entered his third season with the club in the Saudi Pro League.

Ronaldo joined the Saudi club in January last year and was the top scorer in the league last season, with 35 goals in 31 matches.

He's set to play alongside his former Premier League colleague Sadio Mane and former colleague at Real, Karim Benzema, who will play for Al-Ittihad.
