A 27-year-old woman from Gituamba, Kasarani, is fighting for her life in hospital after she was hit in the head by a flying stone during a fight between two groups.

The incident happened on Sunday night when groups from Gituamba and Cieko clashed over allegations of theft, leading to a chaotic exchange of stones.

It was then the woman identified as Evelyn Adagala was hit in the head and lost consciousness, police said.

The woman, who was in the company of her mother, was returning home when the incident happened, police said.

The victim was rushed to St. Francis Hospital where she was found admitted in serious but stable condition, police said.

Police from Kasarani station who visited the hospital said she was on an oxygen machine and that they were waiting for her to recover before taking further action.

A hunt on the groups that were fighting and pelting stones at each other is ongoing, police said.
