Three killed in Kericho accident involving GK car, lorry

Three people have died in an accident involving a GK vehicle and a lorry ferrying LPG gas at Fort Tenan in Kericho.

The double cabin pick-up GK vehicle collided with the lorry head-on, killing all the occupants of the GK vehicle on the spot.

Kericho County Traffic Enforcement Officer Selina Chirchir said the driver of the lorry was seriously injured and has been taken to hospital.

The dead include two males and a female who were in the GK car.

“The vehicles were heading in opposite directions and it's not clear what caused the head-on collision,” she said.

Police officers rushed to the scene and are investigating the incident.

The bodies of the deceased have been taken to St Vincent Hospital morgue awaiting identification.

“We continue to urge drivers to adhere to all traffic regulations and avoid overspeeding so that we stop losing our people in accidents,” Chirchir said.
