Four suspects who were arrested over the alleged abduction and rape of a blogger have been arraigned.

They were presented before a Shanzu Court.

According to the charge sheet, the four were charged with four counts.

The counts are conspiracy to commit a felony, abduction with intent to confine, gang rape and assault causing bodily harm. 

The four are Abdul Hassan Athman alias Sindimba, Haji Babu Ndau alias Achkobe alias Jay, Esther Muthoni alias Totoz and Violet Adera alias Vayoo.

However, they all denied the charges.

They were remanded at the Shimo la Tewa prison awaiting a ruling on September 26 on whether they will be released on bond or not.

Totoz and Adera were arrested at an eatery in Old Town on Friday.

Sindimba was arrested in possession of the motorcycle believed to have been used to carry the blogger from his house on the day of his alleged abduction.

Haji was arrested at the Lukenya area in Athi River, Machakos county while on board a bus headed for Nairobi.

The Shanzu court heard that police are on the trail of phone conversations and WhatsApp messages exchanged between the perpetrators and planners of the abduction and rape of the blogger.
