Police probe two murder incidents in Runyenjes, Embu

Detectives are investigating two murder incidents that were reported separately in Runyenjes, Embu County.

The first incident happened in Gichakore village within Gitare Sublocation where a 24-year-old man died after allegedly being clobbered in his bathroom.

He was rushed to Runyenjes Level Four hospital where he was referred to Embu Level Five Hospital for treatment, but he succumbed to the injuries while receiving treatment.

It was established that there was blood in the bathroom and the house of the grandmother.

Police also visited the hospital and it was established that the deceased had deep cuts on the left side of the head, both hands, shoulder, and the back.

Police said clothes with blood stains were collected from the house following the October 12 incident.

The motive and the suspect behind the incident are yet to be known.

In Mugomori village, the decomposed body of a 51-year-old man was found in his house after suspected murder.

It was suspected he had committed suicide by hanging himself with a rope at the entrance of his bedroom at an unknown time.

But police said they established that the body of the deceased had burns on both hands and ears.

Police suspect he was murdered and an investigation is ongoing into the matter.

Meanwhile, police in Matungulu, Machakos County are investigating an incident in which a loader was allegedly killed in an accident at a farm.

The loader aged 30 was on duty when a power saw was accidentally switched on.

The machine injured him on the stomach, where the intestines were exposed outside, deep cut on the throat, the left ear was chopped off and the right rib.

The victim was rushed to Donyo Sabuk Nursing Home where he received first aid and was referred to Thika Level Five Hospital but he succumbed on his way to the hospital.

The body was moved to the local mortuary pending autopsy and other investigations.

In Syokimau, the body of a man was found on the roadside.

The deceased was later identified as a 61-year-old man who was a resident of Katani Waumini Court in the area.

In Amakura, Teso, Busia County, a 54-year-old Ugandan was found dead in his house.

The body of the woman was found dead in his house with foam oozing from the mouth and nose.

It was established that the deceased together with her husband failed to wake up early as usual.

According to police, when family members checked on them they found the man vomiting blood and he was rushed to Kocholia Subcounty Hospital.

Police suspect they ate poisonous food. An investigation has been opened into the incident.

And in Omokubo village, Irondi Sublocation in Taracha location, Kisii County, a 74-year-old man was found dead on a pathway.

The cause of the death was not established, police said of the Tuesday incident.

The body was moved to the mortuary pending autopsy and other investigations.
