Crime Scene

Detectives are investigating the murder of a 52-year-old businesswoman who was found dead in her bedroom on Saturday, November 16 in Twala Town, within the Oloosirkon Sub-County of Kajiado County.

The victim, police identified as Jennifer Saverio Kagwiria, was found dead in her bedroom.

Police officers from Oloosirkon Police Station arrived at the scene and found the body of the victim, lying in a pool of blood in her bedroom.

According to police, she had multiple deep cuts to her head, right hand, mouth, chin, belly, and throat, indicating that she had been brutally attacked.

Elvis Nyangau, a man identified as a possible suspect, is believed to have been involved in the crime and is still at large.

 Police are actively pursuing him, but his whereabouts remain unknown.

A significant piece of evidence missing in the case is the murder weapon, which has not yet been recovered, police said.

According to police, Kagwiria’s phone numbers are currently off, and there is no communication from her known contacts.

Oloosirkon police station officers arrived at the scene and documented the evidence, they processed the crime scene thoroughly.

 Kagwiria’s body was transported to the Nairobi Funeral Home for postmortem examination.

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations in Isinya is handling the case, and detectives are working to identify additional leads.

The police are focusing on Nyangau, who is currently wanted in connection with the crime.

The case is Pending Under Investigation and authorities are urging anyone with information about the crime to come forward.

Inspector General of Police Douglas Kanja has provided an update on investigations into murders reported in various parts of the country on October 24.

Kanja said a comparative analysis of murder cases reported from August to October 2022- 2024 indicates a slight increase.

Additionally, he noted that in 2024, a total of 339 murder cases have so far been recorded, compared to 336 cases in 2023 and 341 cases in 2022 respectively.
