Police are investigating an incident in which the body of a 55-year-old man was found in a river in Mulot, Narok County.

Police said they are investigating murder after the body of the man identified as Charles Obwoge was found floating on the shores of River Lamek on Saturday, November 30 morning.

According to police, the body had multiple cuts and other injuries on the head.

The body was moved to the mortuary pending autopsy and other investigations.

Police said no arrest had been made but they are pursuing leads on the possible motive and suspects behind the same.

Elsewhere police say they are investigating murder in separate cases of mob injustice reported on Sunday, December 1.

The first incident happened in Dandora where a man in his twenties was found dead after he was stoned by a mob.

Police discourage mob lynching and want suspects to be surrendered to authorities for processing.

Police said they were informed the suspect was lynched for trying to snatch a purse from an unknown lady.

An identification card bearing the name of Francis Ngotho Macharia was recovered from his wallet.

The body was moved to City Morgue pending post-mortem and identification.

In Gilgil, Nakuru County, the body of a man was found hanging on a tree. Police said they are investigating a murder in the case reported on Saturday, November 30 along the railway line in GTI area.

The body was moved to the Gillgil Sub County Hospital mortuary awaiting identification and postmortem.

In the Marimanti area, Meru County, one Edward Nyamu, 40 was found dead after a suspected suicide incident.

The body of the man was found hanging on a tree with a sisal rope tied to his neck at the weekend.

The incident happened in Karurukuni village, police said.

Police officers who visited the scene said there were no physical injuries on the body.

The body was moved to the Marimanti Level Four morgue for preservation and autopsy.
