    Kenyans got to witness President William Ruto's athletics skills as he battled with speakers at the East African Community (EAC) inter-parliamentary sports games.


    The President participated in a race alongside other speakers as he officially opened the 14th edition of the East African Community (EAC) inter-parliamentary sports games in Mombasa.


    The President alongside speakers and other leaders were seen at the starting line on their marks as they waited for a prompt to start running.

    The leaders present were National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang'ula, Speaker of the Senate Amason Kingi, Speaker of the Parliament of Uganda Anita Among, Joseph Ntakirumana, Speaker of the East African Legislative Assembly and Mombasa Governor Abdulswamad Nassir. 


    As they began the race, President Ruto was leading and maintained the pace until the cross line where he finished first.


    Other leaders and speakers trailed while Anita, the Uganda speaker tripped and fell.

    The games, being staged in Mombasa, started on Friday, December 6 and will continue until December 18.
