Kenya’s 2024 global personality Google search is a mix of political figures, entertainment personalities and religious leaders.

Google on Tuesday released Kenya’s trending searches for the year 2024.

Google Trends, a publicly available tool that displays relative search volume across geographies, periods and queries that people want to know about has revealed the top global personalities searched by Kenyans in 2024.

The top trending global personalities in 2024 in Kenya’s Google search are a mix of political figures, entertainment personalities and religious leaders.

Topping Kenya’s Google search list is Jamaican reggae and dancehall musician Vybz Kartel.

The 48-year-old artist, real name Adidja Palmer was freed from prison on August 1, 2024, after serving a 10-year sentence after being accused of killing Clive "Lizard" Williams in Jamaica.

His conviction was overturned by UK judges in March.

The second most searched global personality on the list is the US President-Elect Donald Trump. Trump was elected the 47th president of the United States on November 6, 2024, winning against campaigning Vice President Kamara Harris.

American-based televangelist Benny Hinn came out as the third most Google-searched global personality in 2024.

Hinn was at Nyayo Stadium, Nairobi in February after an invitation from the Kenyan first lady, Rachel Ruto who asked him to have a government-sponsored crusade.

Hinn held a crusade dubbed, "Healing the Nation" an event that marked his return to Kenya after more than two decades.

US Vice President and 2024 presidential candidate Kamala Harris was in fourth place as Kenya’s most Google-searched global personality.

In fifth place was Equatorial Guinea’s Director General of the National Financial Investigation Agency (ANIF), Baltasar Ebang Engonga who was on the spot over an alleged sex scandal.

Engonga was arrested on October 25 for allegedly recording more than 400 sex tapes featuring the wives of prominent people in the country.

Joe Biden, the 46th president of the US came in sixth as American rapper and record producer Sean “Diddy” Combs came in seventh as Kenya’s most Google searched global personality of 2024.

At number eight is Tanzanian gospel artist Bonny Mwaitege. The singer was purportedly reported to be dead in a road accident on July 22, 2024, but turned out not to be true.

King Charles, the King of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland as of September 2022 was ranked as the ninth most Google searched personality.

American stand-up comedian and actor, Katt Williams was ranked number 10 as the most Google-searched global personalities of 2024.
