President William Ruto on Tuesday evening, during the New Year's eve State Dinner held at Kisii State Lodge, made a prayer for the country even as Kenyans ushered in the new year, 2025.
The President started by thanksgiving remarks for providence, help, guidance and protection of the nation in 2024.
"We thank you for all the good, progress that was achieved in 2024. Heavenly Father, we thank you for lifting us up even as we stumbled," he prayed.
The President went on to ask God to protect the country even as the new year is set to begin.
"Father we have 2025 in a few minutes, we ask that you go ahead of us so that you can protect this nation," the President said.
He prayed for prosperity, progress and all the children in the country, addressing them as 'the blessing to the nation’.
The President prayed for help to educate and mentor the children and support them even in health.
"Our young men and women, the children of Kenya, we pray over them that Father in them, you will help us to mentor them, to help and guide them, to speak to them as parents and help us bring up God-fearing children," the President prayed.
"We pray over the children of our nation, protect them from bad influence, drugs and negative influence.”
The President also prayed for all the leaders of Kenya at all levels, to be able to understand God's will for the nation.
"You have granted us the opportunity to lead your people, help us to understand and know your will for the nation, help us so that your will is done in Kenya.”
President Ruto prayed over every plan and agenda set for the country to be brought to actualization.
"We pray against all the designs and plans of the enemy, do not allow the enemy to overcome us.”
He prayed over the peace of the nation, farmers, business people, industrialists and progress of the nation.
"We pray that you shall bind us together with codes of love, that you shall weave us into a united nation, a nation after your heart," President Ruto said.
"We pray that even for the things we have not done well, you forgive us as a nation, as leaders where we have not made the right judgement. Help us to do the right things for your people, to know, understand and discover your will and accomplish your will for Kenya."
He prayed over the peace, stability, prosperity and wealth of the nation even as he asked God for His guidance ahead of the New Year
