Today’s draw will likely feature 17 teams that have already qualified.

Initially, 19 teams were targeted. The current title holder is Senegal.

The event comes a day after the the body announced the postponement of the tournament from February to August citing infrastructural hiccups.

“The CAF Technical and Infrastructure experts, some of whom have been based in Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda, have advised CAF that more time is required to ensure that the infrastructure and facilities, are at the levels necessary for hosting a successful Total Energies African Nations Championship (CHAN) Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda 2024,” CAF president Patrice Motsepe said.

This is the second time the games have been postponed. CHAN 2024 was initially set for September 2024 but was pushed to between February 1 and 28, 2025, due to lack of match venues that meet standards in some of the host countries, including Kenya.
