President William Ruto’s Cabinet Secretaries have made new appointments to state agencies, even as Education CS Julius Ogamba revoked a key appointment.
In a Gazette Notice dated January 31, 2025, Ogamba revoked Bob Ndubi’s appointment as a member of the Kisii University Council.
“In exercise of the powers conferred by the Universities Act, 2012, as read together with Section 51(1) of the Interpretations and General Provisions Act, the Cabinet Secretary for Education revokes the appointment of Bob Ndubi as a member of the Kisii University Council, with effect from January 31, 2025,” the notice read in part.
Separately, Cooperatives and Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises CS Wycliffe Oparanya appointed Martha Wanjiru Miano as a member of the Board of Directors of the Micro and Small Enterprise Authority for a period of three years. At the same time, he revoked the appointment of Adan Sheikh Abdullahi.
Health CS Deborah Mulongo also made a new appointment to the Kenyatta University Teaching, Referral, and Research Hospital Board. She appointed Leonard Sang as a board member for a three-year term, effective January 31, 2025.
Tourism and Wildlife CS Rebecca Miano appointed Nancy Waturi Mathenge to the Kenya Wildlife Service Board of Trustees for a period of three years, effective January 31, 2025. In the same notice, she revoked the appointments of Peter Fredrick Moll and Edward Norton.
Water CS Eric Mugaa appointed Nicholas Wambua Muthangya as a member of the Board of Directors of the Tanathi Water Works Development Agency for a three-year term, effective January 31, 2025.
Defence CS Roselinda Tuya appointed members to the Kenya Defence Forces Pension Appeals Committee for a three-year term, effective January 31, 2025. The appointees include Col. (Dr.) C. O. Ondego, Col. S. C. Yator, Col. (Rtd.) L. L. Muluvi, and Col. (Rtd.) M. M. Nchuurai.
Additionally, Elly Ongei has been appointed as Secretary to the Kenya Defence Forces Pension Appeals Committee for a period of three years, effective January 31, 2025.
