Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua continued with his home meetings on Saturday by hosting a team of lawyers as charts his next political path.
The delegation from the umbrella body-Law Society of Kenya (LSK)-was led by Steve Mbugua.
During the session with the delegation led by lawyer Steve Mbugua, Gachagua said they delve into the current state of the nation's politics.
The discussions, he stated, shed light on the challenges and opportunities facing the country’s governance.
“They brought with them a broad range of perspectives, from constitutional law to human rights and how collectively we can uphold and promote the fundamental rights and freedom of all people,” he said.
Gachagua acknowledged the invaluable contributions of the legal fraternity, recognising their expertise and experience as crucial in shaping the future political landscape.
He emphasised that their insights would play a key role in advancing his plans as the country moves forward.
Gachagua's Wamunyoro residence has been a beehive of activities, with several politicians trooping to the rural home to seek his blessings ahead of the 2027 polls.
He recently announced that he would launch his party in February as he lays the groundwork for the General Elections.
The former DP's allies have confirmed that plans to unveil the political vehicle are complete as Gachagua seeks to affirm his influence in national politics.
He also wants to consolidate his Mount Kenya heartland, which has become furiously restive since his removal from office.
Former Laikipia Woman Representative Catherine Waruguru said the party to be unveiled next month has blue as one of its corporate colours. "We are ready and the party will be unveiled next month,'' Waruguru said.
There are reports that Gachagua is planning to sponsor aspirants in various elective seats to challenge those allied to President William Ruto's Kenya Kwanza government.
