Belgut MP Nelson Koech now wants the Kenya Kwanza government to consider Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga for a position in the government.
The proposal comes after Raila lost the African Union chairperson election held on Saturday in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
Djibouti candidate Mahmoud Ali Youssouf won the race after garnering the required 33 votes in the 7th round of voting which he contested alone.
Raila had been dropped in the sixth round after trailing Youssouf in the third, fourth, fifth and sixth rounds.
Following the loss, Koech said the Kenya Kwanza regime should consider incorporating Raila into the government.
"The loss is a good opportunity to set the stage for another moment. I think it should give birth to another moment,'' Koech said.
Koech lauded Raila's vast experience in the political scene in the country saying the state should leverage his expertise by accommodating him in government.
''What will Raila do with his energy, wisdom and experience? I think we in Kenya Kwanza should accommodate that experience, the counsel that he will give us,'' he stated.
He added that a structure that accommodated him would be good for the country citing the National Dialogue Committee (NADCO) report would be a good start.
''We probably will look at the NADCO report and I don't think it's about positions for Raila. It's really about his resources as a person,'' Koech said.
The MP further commended the inclusion and the work of Cabinet Secretaries from Raila's camp saying they have done a commendable job so far.
