Interior Principal Secretary Raymond Omollo will preside over the launch of the national substance use prevention week. 

According to the National Authority for the Campaign Against Alcohol and Drug Abuse (NACADA), National Substance Use Prevention Week promotes the nation "we want to see – people and communities safe and healthy free from the ill effects of alcohol and drug use."

A week to celebrate the majority who do not use alcohol or other drugs – abstainers and those in recovery.

KHRC briefing

Kenya Human Rights Commission will hold a press briefing regarding the death of Gilbert Kinyua who was found dead with his throat slit at Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) on February 7.

The deceased had been referred to the facility from St. Mary’s Hospital Lang’ata in December 2024.

He would then be admitted to a ward that specialised in the management of patients with neurological conditions.

The briefing will be held at KNH from 10 am. A postmortem is also scheduled for Thursday.

Bodaboda training

The Rotary Club of Ngong Hills will hold a Boda Boda training at the National Police Leadership Academy in Ngong, from 8.30 am – 1.30 pm.

Budget policy statement

The National Assembly Departmental Committee on Education will have sittings to consider the Budget Policy Statement 2025.

It is scheduled to meet Teachers Service Commission (TSC) CEO Nancy Macharia and Basic Education Principal Secretary Belio Kipsang.

It will be held at the mini-chamber, County Hall.

Committee on Trade, Industry and Cooperatives meeting

The Committee on Trade, Industry and Cooperatives will meet Heads of Ministries and State Departments under its purview over the Budget Policy Statement 2025.

Trade CS Lee Kinyanjui and three PSs under his ministry will appear between 9.30 am - 1 pm, while Cooperatives PS Wycliffe Oparanya and his PSs will appear between 2.30 pm - 5.30 pm in Committee Room 23, 5th Floor Bunge Tower.
