The first incident was reported in Karura Forest in the city where hikers found a body dangling on a tree on Tuesday evening.

The man identified as Caleb Kirinya had accessed the forest earlier on before he abandoned a bag he had on a bench and hanged himself, police said.

The hikers called Kenya Forest Service personnel who arrived at the scene and confirmed the man had entered the park from Limuru Road gate before allegedly hanging himself there using a rope that was found tied around his neck.

The motive of the incident is yet to be known. The body was moved to the mortuary pending autopsy.

Police say cases of suicide have been on the rise with up to two being reported daily.

The government has been taking measures to address the menace.
