
A 28-year-old man has died by suicide in Yatta, Machakos
County.
Mwanzia Mukova is said to have died by suicide at his
parents' farm in Matuu village, Yatta sub county on Monday
Machakos County police commander Patrick Lobolia said the
matter was reported to Matuu police station as a suicide incident report on
Monday at 10.40am.
"It was reported by one of the deceased's relatives
that Mwanzia Mukova, aged 28 years, had been found having committed suicide
using a rope on a tree in their farm about 500 metres from their home,"
Lobolia said.
The police boss spoke to the Star at his office in Machakos
on Tuesday morning.
He said a team of police officers from Matuu police station
and DCI Yatta visited the scene and established that the deceased had committed
suicide due to love triangle.
He left a suicide note for his girlfriend.
The scene was processed and documented by DCI officers from
Yatta.
The body was moved to Mbaku Funeral home, awaiting an
autopsy.
The DCI, Yatta, has launched investigations into the
incident.
Lobolia said suicide incidents were high in Machakos County.
"A day hardly passes without a suicide incident
reported in the county. We receive such reports on a daily basis. Kathiani
subcounty is leading in the incidents," Lobolia said.
