

A woman was found dead moments after she had been strangled outside a residential house in Juakali, Embakasi, Nairobi.
Residents said they heard commotion and screams from their houses at about 1 am on Tuesday and when they stepped out to check the source, they saw two men strangling the woman.
The men abandoned their mission and vanished into darkness as more neighbours responded to the screams.
It was later established the victim had died at the scene after the strangulation.
Her underpants had been lowered when the body was found at the scene.
It is not clear if she had been assaulted, sexually, police said.
The motive of the attack is also yet to be determined.
Police said the woman had not been identified and that the body was moved to the mortuary pending autopsy.
An investigation into the murder is ongoing, Nairobi police boss George Sedah said.
The attackers used bared hands in the mission.
“We don’t
know what was the cause of the strangulation but a team is pursuing the matter
to know more. The lady looks like a 22-year-old,” police said.
Elsewhere in Biafra, Kamkunji area, the body of a 29-year-old Ugandan woman was found in her house after suspected sudden death.
The cause of the death of the woman identified as Esther Nakiru was not immediately established.
Police said the woman’s husband told them he had left her in the house and left for work.
He came back on Sunday evening and realised the door to the house was locked from inside.
This forced him to seek help to break in where he found the woman’s body lying on the floor unresponsive.
The body had no visible injuries at that time, police said.
The body was moved to the mortuary pending autopsy and other procedures.
In Mukurweini, Nyeri County, a man identified as Anthony Gaitho Maina was found dead after a suspected suicide incident.
Police said he hanged himself using a shoe race that was found tied around his neck on a macadamia tree in his parents’ farm.
The motive of the incident is yet to be known. The body was moved to the mortuary pending autopsy, police said.
