Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga has mourned with Dagoretti North MP Beatrice Elachi after the loss of her son Elvis Murakana Namenya.
The cause of death remains unclear as messages of condolences continue to pour in.
“I know you are heartbroken and I know your world has turned inside out following the death of your son, Elvis Murakana Namenya,” Raila said.
In a tweet on Wednesday, Raila said he is aware of the pain and the struggle that Elachi was going through.
“Indeed we can't carry the weight you carry in your heart and body right now. Even though we feel your pain, we can't feel it in the exact way you do. But be assured you are not alone,” he said.
“Be assured that we know the strength of the pain you are struggling with currently and we wish we could shoulder it for you. “
Raila asked Elachi to draw some strength from the assurance that friends and relatives are with her in spirit, thought and prayer.
“We wish to see you heal and be your vibrant self again. I believe your son would wish you that. You shall overcome, indeed you must overcome,” he said.
“You owe Elvis that. And we will walk with you the journey until you overcome and recover fully. God be with you and your family.”
Kileleshwa Ward MCA Robert Alai said it was with a heavy heart that he extended his deepest condolences to Elachi and her family following the loss.
“As the MCA for Kileleshwa Ward, I join the people of Dagoretti North and beyond in mourning this profound loss. Losing a child is an unimaginable pain, and my thoughts are with you during this incredibly difficult time. May you find strength and solace in the love and support that surrounds you,” he said.
Alai added that Kileleshwa Ward community offers unwavering support and prayers for Elachi and her family as they navigate the grief.
Veteran broadcaster Fred Obachi Machokaa also sent his message of solace to the MP.
