Prime Cabinet Secretary and Cabinet Secretary for Foreign and Diaspora Affairs Musalia Mudavadi has ruled out the possibility of President William Ruto being defeated in the 2027 elections.

Speaking at Eid-ul-Fitr celebrations to mark the end of Ramadan, Mudavadi affirmed that Ruto will be re-elected for a second term in the next polls.

“I have been in politics for a long time, and I have looked at it, and I want to tell you it will be very difficult to beat William Ruto in 2027,” he stated.

Citing the deal inked by Ruto and former Prime Minister Raila Odinga to work together in the same government, Mudavadi said it would be very difficult to unseat Ruto.

“It is the right of all Kenyans to speak their mind, but I want to say that it will be very difficult. They have united in broad-based, and some people still think they can beat them,” he wondered.

On March 7, Ruto and Raila signed a memorandum of understanding, formalising what has been termed as a “broad-based government” at Nairobi’s Kenyatta International Convention Centre.

The pact between the United Democratic Alliance and the Orange Democratic Movement details a framework for collaboration between the country’s two largest political parties.

Both parties have pledged to work together to address the country’s challenges including ballooning debt, high cost of living and corruption.

Former Deputy President Rigathi has declared that his camp will beat Ruto even with the support of Raila.

He has claimed the president's political survival depends on Raila but has maintained that the Opposition will win.

He argued that even with the ODM leader’s backing, the president’s influence would crumble.

Gachagua argued that their unity would secure power for generations to come.

Gachagua also claimed his camp would dominate Kenya’s leadership for the next 100 years.

The former DP has argued that their unity would secure power for generations to come.
