The Football Kenya Federation has announced a competition on jersey design for 2025.

FKF invited interested and eligible creatives and designers to participate in the Federation's 2025 Jersey Design Competition.

The competition aims to offer creatives a unique opportunity to be part of the national football teams' journey as they aim to represent the nation internationally.

In a statement on Tuesday, FKF said they would like jersey designs to explore different facets bearing cultural or national significance.

“The base design colours should reflect Kenya's national flag colours: black, white, red or green. This will ensure that the jerseys maintain fidelity to the nationally recognized colours, which have deep significance for the nation,” the statement read.

The FKF Jersey Design competition will run from Tuesday, April 1, 2025, to Tuesday, April 15, 2025.

FKF said that late submissions will not be accepted.

Each candidate may submit only one (1) entry. Any attempt at canvassing or making "confidential" submissions shall lead to automatic disqualification, FKF said.

Creatives should provide a brief description of the facets incorporated in their designs and its relation or significance to football or the nation.

Each candidate will be restricted to a single entry, which must be the candidates' original piece created by the submitting candidate.

FKF added that candidates must submit a declaration that the submitted design has not been previously submitted to any other entity or competition.

Submissions may be made either by way of a painting illustration or by a sample already overlayed onto a jersey.

The competition is open to all Kenyans aged between 18 and 35 years.

The Federation shall establish an independent committee to review all the entries with a view to selecting the top three designs which they will select.

The overall winner will be awarded Sh150,000, the runner-up will get Sh100,000, and the 2nd runner-up will get Sh50,000.

FKF said that candidates whose entries shall not be selected shall retain full rights over their concepts and designs.

The winning entrants will be required to sign a declaration form to agree to transfer all copyrights and intellectual property rights in the designs to FKF.

The entrants shall also be required to waive any claims to any royalties or revenue earned.
